Canadian Mounted Archery Tournament Series (C-MATS)

The Canadian Mounted Archery Tournament Series (C-MATS) is the Canadian Federation of Mounted Archery's annual national standings rally, running May 1 through October 31 each year.
We realize that Canadian horse archers have opportunities to compete year round, if you compete outside of the C-MATS eligibility window you can submit your results and competition details here to have them included in the CFMA National Ranking, however they will not be included in the tournament series.

Rather than a single championship weekend, the C-MATS celebrates consistent participation throughout the season. Canadian riders can submit results from eligible competitions held in Canada or internationally, earning their place in the national rankings while encouraging friendly competition, personal improvement, and camaraderie across the country.

Four Rider Classes

Athletes compete in one of four rider classes:

  • Walk

  • Trot

  • Student (Untimed Canter)

  • Horse Archer (Timed Canter)

Riders may advance to a higher class at any time during the season. When they do, any previous results from a lower class are removed, ensuring each athlete appears in only one class.

Separate recognition is also provided for Under 14, Under 16, and Under 18 riders within every class.
